Air France Hangar in Charles De Gaulle Airport
Danpal Takes to the Skies
After the first maintenance of Hangar H6, which opened in 2009 at Roissy-CDG in the Val-d’Oise, Air France Industries decided to launch a second hangar. Located close to the first hangar, the new hangar H7 accommodates “one or two A380 A330 A340 or two or even two Boeings head to tail,” says Pierre Girault, Safety Quality Environment & Sustainability Manager of Air France Industries.
The two hangars – which share all offices, shops and workshops – cover an area of 25,000 m², of which 12,500 m² is for the nave (90 m deep, 110 m wide and 40 m high(.
H7’s structure features Danpal Façade, a translucent system which offers outstanding technical and aesthetic features together with excellent weather and high impact resistance. With its unique finishes, reflections, and lighting, this system illuminates the user’s experience during the day, and transforms the giant structure into a magnificent light box at night.
